Our general workplace safety courses are designed with specific tasks or hazard categories in mind. From manual handling to working at heights and from writing risk assessments to understanding the law, we have most training needs covered. The courses can be utilised for induction training, skills or refresher training, group safety talks and seminars, safety circles or extended tool box talks. The courses we offer are all delivered by trainers with many years experience in the subject and who can relate the theory of health and safety to actual workplace practice.
Providing quality health and safety training helps you to ensure that the people who work in your organisation know how to work safely and without risks to health, to develop a positive health and safety culture where safe and healthy working becomes second nature, and of course, enables you to meet your legal duty to protect the health and safety of your employees (and any others who may come into contact with the organisation).
Effective training will contribute towards making your employees competent in health and safety, can help your business to avoid the distress that accidents and ill health cause, help you avoid the financial costs of accidents and occupational ill health, and minimise costs associated with lost production and demotivated staff. Don’t forget that your insurance is unlikely to cover all costs associated with a health and safety incidents.
The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires you to provide whatever information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of your employees. This is expanded by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, which identify situations where health and safety training is particularly important, e.g. when people start work, on exposure to new or increased risks and where existing skills may have become rusty or need updating.
Who requires health and safety training? Everyone does! Even the most experienced professional or senior manager will require some degree of refresher training or updating on new skills, hazard spotting and risk assessing.
Like many employers, you may not be in a position to provide this training on your own, in which case you will need some competent assistance. This is where trainUsafety can help. Our experienced trainers have extensive health and safety experience across many spheres of work and will deliver professionally developed training courses or programmes that will comprehensively cover your workplace health and safety training needs. Don’t worry if you have rather specific requirements as we also offer a service to develop bespoke safety courses matched to your exact requirements.
